Impeach Blair Letter:
Blair must be prosecuted as a war criminal, and the large amounts he has made out of his crimes should be recovered under the Proceeds of Crime Acts (POCA). He has compiled a self-serving memoir for which he has been paid an advance of £4.6 million.Saddam was a danger to the western world, Blair and Bush told us. It was their excuse for war. It should therefore have been a tough battle, but, even before it began, the pundits said it would be over in days. So it was. Saddam could not have been the danger that war propaganda claimed. It is more proof of the illegality of this greedy adventure.
No one sensible has doubted for hundreds of years that justice must be based on the sound principles of innocence, openness, evidence and judgement by peers, to avoid arbitrary or political victimization. Then, it was all abandoned in the US by Straussists and Republican neocons, and in the UK, by a so-called “socialist” government, albeit one led by a Christian Tory and his harem, a hand-picked bevvy of unquestioning no-marks whose only interest in parliament, politics and democracy was to remain in power for what they could make out of it, as the recent expenses scandal showed. The real puzzle is why people vote for such manifest hypocrites, set on destroying the justice and democracy built up over centuries on the excuse of defending it from terrorists. Why do voters trust their most important freedoms to those who have been shown to be liars over issues that have meant the deaths of tens of thousands of people, most of whom have been nothing other than innocent victims of tyrants, whether Arab ones or our own. The big cheeses that ruled the USA thought democracy meant, “I am right! Want to make anything of it?” Well, now that Bush is out and Obama is in, we should make something of it.

Send them to local newspapers too. Pester local and national representatives, MPs, Governors, Senators, PMs, Presidents, anyone important, with as many as you need to get attention. Let them know the killing—and destruction of our own hard won democracy in the name of the “war on terrorism&rdquo—were not in our names!
